Edo 2020: Why we want Obaseki out ― Ize-Iyamu

The major opposition to Gov. Godwin Obaseki’s second term goal as Governor of Edo State under the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo state, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has given reasons why he wants Obaseki kicked out of government house.

Ize-Iyamu who spoke on Wednesday while picking his Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja said since the coming of Gov. Godwin Obaseki to the government house, the governor, the deputy governor and the people in his government have constantly abused the APC national Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, who as a father has kept quiet.

He said the incumbent has every right to seek reelection but has created too many rifts between himself and leaders of his party.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu added that the governor went further to dismiss the people that put him in office and have constantly used all kinds of negative adjectives to describe them.

While Ize-Iyamu have continued to show interest in becoming the next governor of the state, the aspirant has enjoyed the backing of notable party members, including a former deputy governor of the state, Dr Pius Odubu who recently stepped down for him.

Among those who have showed support for Ize-Iyamu are Hon. Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, Chief Solomon Edebiri, Gen Charles Airhiavbere, Prof. Ebegue Amadasun, Hon Saturday Uwuilekhue, Engr Chris Ogiemwonyi and Mr Blessing Agbonmhere.
